Hardwood Floor Wax Removal Process
We start by testing the hardwood to determine if they have a top layer of acrylic polish. Acrylic Floor Polish can cause appearance issues over time and must be removed prior to refinishing.
If an acrylic polish is detected, we will apply a product to emulsify the acrylic polish. We agitate the floor using a low-speed buffer and an abrasive scrubbing pad. The residue is then extracted from the wood floor using a floor scrubber and another product to neutralize the floors.
If wax is being removed from a solid wood floor, then the floor may need to be screened and recoated with polyurethane.
